LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A burglar who entered the Git-N-Go store on Sunday night didn’t get and go as planned, when he set off the store’s alarm system during a break-in.
But he did go out a dead bolted door and away from the scene of the attempted robbery, leaving police seeking information on his identity.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Billy Madden arrived at the store, located one mile east of London, around midnight Sunday. The investigation into the break-in revealed the man cut a hole in the roof of the business and lowered himself inside the store. His actions, however, set off the alarm system and the would-be robber fled the scene.
Surveillance cameras show pictures of the suspect, who is described as a white male, approximately 6’2” with a goatee, wearing camouflage coveralls and a white hoodie.
Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864-6600 or Laurel Dispatch at (606) 878-7000. Callers can remain anonymous.
Assisting at the scene were Sgt. Brett Reeves, officers with the London Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
