Man wanted for assault captured

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —



A man wanted on several charges was arrested on Friday afternoon.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Back arrested 32-year-old Steven Eversole  of Taylor School Road in London around 12:30 p.m. Eversole was wanted for first-degree assault and intimidating a participant in a legal process. He was located on Bray Road, two miles west of London.

Eversole is accused of hitting a person in the face with brass knuckles, causing multiple breaks in the victim’s skull and cutting his face. He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in Laurel County. Eversole has a pending case from Dec. 2011 in which he was charged with fourth-degree assault and a bench warrant.

Eversole was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center following his arrest. 

Assisting Back in the investigation into the assault and in the arrest were Lt. Chuck Johnson, Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, Deputy James Sizemore, and Deputy Dan Grigsby.
