Drugs, money seized in arrest

A large quantity of cash and pills were seized during a search of a residence  that had been the subject of several citizen complaints.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Back and Deputy James Sizemore conducted an investigation and obtained search warrants for a home on Amelia Drive on Thursday, July 18. 

More than 100 prescription pills, all of which were controlled substances, several firearms and more than $7,500 in small bills were discovered during the search. 

Arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance were 63-year-old Chester Saylor of 129 Amelia Road and 40-year-old Lillian Minton of 212 Ravenwood Estates, both of London. Saylor faces two charges of second-degree trafficking and was released on a $10,000 surety (signature) bond. Minton is charged with one count of second-degree trafficking and was released on a $5,000 surety bond. Both were released from the Laurel County Detention Center on July 19 and both were scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday (yesterday).

Assisting at the scene were Deputies Mikey Ashurst and Deputy Tyler Morris. 

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives continue to investigate citizen complaints regarding the sale and distribution of illegal substances.
