Man arrested for fighting mother

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — An argument between a mother and son got physical, landing the 18-year-old man in jail for fourth-degree assault.

Cecil E. Powell of Chess Lane in Keavy allegedly became upset when his mother asked him to get off the phone and help do some housework before she had to go to work. The press release stated that Powell’s mother paid for his phone and that the mother had bruise marks on her from the fight.

Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy John Inman investigated the complaint and made the arrest on Powell.
