More shoplifting arrests

Staff Writer

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Berry arrested two individuals on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 1:17 p.m. at Walmart in southern Laurel County, charging them with shoplifting after Walmart’s Loss Prevention Team observed the pair committing the thefts.

Arrested was: Margarette E. Reynolds, 22, and Melissa L. Bowling, 39, both of Cannon, Ky. (Knox County).

Allegedly, Reynolds was observed placing unpaid items in her purse, and Bowling was observed placing undergarments and other items in Reynolds’ purse. Then Bowling reportedly went to a non-functioning self scan checkout, faked scanning the items, and attempted to leave the store with the unpaid items.

Both subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
