LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — The Pilot Truck Stop on U.S. 25-E was the scene of two different incidents early Thursday morning that resulted in the arrests of three persons.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Reeves answered the call of a shoplifter at the store just before 3 a.m., where they spotted a male suspect trying to leave the premises. The man, 21-year-old Anthony S. Baker of Rogersville, Tenn., appeared to be under the influence and was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

His passenger, 27-year-old Jodi K. Vizcaya, also of Rogersville, Tenn., was also believed to be under the influence. She was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance in addition to shoplifting after some stolen property from the truck stop was found inside the vehicle.

Both were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.

Just prior to that, Reeves arrested 37-year-old Jeremy D. Gatewood of Thoroughbred Road in Corbin after he was reportedly harassing female customers inside the store. Gatewood was intoxicated and was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
