London couple steals from man’s uncle

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff’s Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, along with Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore and Deputy Robbie Grimes, investigated a complaint on Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. that a London couple had stolen a large amount of coin change from the man’s uncle’s residence.

Joseph E. White, 35, of Lily Road, London, was charged with theft by unlawful taking. He was also charged on an outstanding Laurel County bench warrant for flagrant non-support and four outstanding Whitley County bench warrants.

Tanya Hurley, 35, of Feltner Street, London, was also charged with theft by unlawful taking.

Deputies determined the couple went to a business and cashed in the change and received $965.51. When arrested on Parker Street, White had $444 cash on him and five prescription pills.

Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
