Woman steals brother’s checks


A London woman was jailed following an investigation into some stolen checks.

Carolyn Hill, 45, of Keavy Road in London, was arrested Sunday afternoon on Moriah Church Road, eight miles west of London, after it was determined she was involved in the theft of her brother’s checks. Three checks, all written for $200, had been cashed at area grocery stores. The man’s name had been forged on each check, then cashed.

Through the cooperation of the stores where the checks had been cashed, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Berry then had the evidence to arrest Hill.
