LPD arrests two in month-long drug investigation

London Police Officers arrested a London man on Wednesday, Sept. 25 on drug trafficking charges after he sold methamphetamine to a police informant on two occasions.

The arrest was the result of a month-long investigation led by Detectives Jimmy Phelps and Joe Smith.

Elvis Presley Profitt, 36, of 235 Sowder Lane, London was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offence, greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine.

A large quantity of methamphetamine was seized from Profitt’s vehicle.

A search of Profitt’s residence led to the finding of additional methamphetamine and resulted in the arrest of Brittany Yaden.

Yaden, 25, of 3005 Spring Branch Road, London, was arrested on the outstanding warrants from Laurel County District Court including a probation violation for a felony offense.

Profitt and Yaden were both lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center and are pending additional charges.

Assisting in the arrest were Chief Stewart Walker, Major Derek House, Captain Darrell Kilburn, Officer Shannon Morgan and Officer Danny Robinson.
