LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Deputy Robbie Grimes and Deputy Larry Parrott responded to a call of domestic violence on Lily Road, six miles south of London on Saturday around 3:20 p.m.

Deputies said 19-year-old Thomas K. Hodge of London reacted violently, allegedly smashing — and shattering — the windshield a girl’s car. Reportedly, he and the girl had been dating and she had broke up with him.

Deputies said Hodge also took her iPhone and threw it into a field and it could not be found. The deputies learned the two had been dating but the female was breaking up with Hodge, which instigated the angry reaction.

Hodge was arrested for second-degree criminal mischief and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center. He was released on Sunday afternoon on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Sept. 30.
