LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
The arrests of wanted drug dealers continue, even after the roundup conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies.
The latest capture was 34-year-old Davan Smith of Somerset Road in London, on Monday, Nov. 26.
Detective Jason Back, along with a Deputy U.S. Marshal, went to Smith’s residence, four miles west of London, around 1 p.m. and placed Smith under arrest for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense.
Also arrested was 39-year-old Travis McQueen, of Old State Road in London, at a residence seven miles west of London. McQueen was charged with giving an officer a false name, where he gave his brother’s name and social security number in order to avoid being arrested.
Both McQueen and Smith were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center following their arrests.
Sheriff John Root said more arrests related to drug traffickers will be forthcoming.
