Jan. 22- Town Hall meeting at London Fire Dept.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — The London Fire Department on Dixie Street will be the host site of the first Laurel County Sheriff’s Town Hall meeting of 2013.

Set for Tuesday, Jan. 22, the eighth town hall meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and offers citizens an opportunity to learn more about the activities within their community.

Topics to be discussed at this town hall meeting will include the year end totals for the sheriff’s office during 2012. That will include the number of complaint calls answered, the number of drug arrests during the previous year, and establishing a neighborhood watch program, as well as any other concerns of the citizens attending.

The first town hall meeting was held on Jan. 23, 2012, just two weeks after Root officially took office. That meeting was held at the Lily Volunteer Fire Department. East Bernstadt and Keavy wound down the 2011 meetings, with the Laurel County Fire Department hosting the first meeting of 2012. Other meetings last year were Campground, Bush and Crossroads hosted the remaining gatherings.

“Make sure to make plans to be in attendance,” Sheriff John Root said. “We look forward to seeing each of you and discussing your concerns as a group about Laurel County.”
