Oct. 19-21- Camp Wildcat Civil War Re-enactment

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — The annual Camp Wildcat Civil War Re-enactment will be October 19-21.

Friday is school day for children. On Saturday and Sunday the camp opens at 10 a.m. with battles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The schedule is as follows:



•  Friday, Oct. 19, School Day

9 a.m. — Buses begin to arrive with 900 children

noon — Skirmish on the battlefield

2 p.m. — Living History Day ends



•  Saturday, Oct. 20

10 a.m. Living History Camps open

11 a.m. Military demonstration on battlefield

noon — President Lincoln and General Lee at the tent outside the barn

12:30 — Medical demonstration at the Medical Tent near the battlefield

12:30 —Ladies’ Tea and Social in the barn (tickets at registration for $1)

2:30 — Battle of London

4:00 — Camp closes to the public



•  Sunday, Oct. 21

10 a.m. — Living History Camps open

10 a.m. — Period church service at the barn (no guns fired during service)

10:30 a.m. — Leave for a memorial service on Wildcat Mountain

11 a.m. — Memorial service on Wildcat Mountain, the original battlefield

11 a.m. — Annual “Swap, Shop, and Trade Meet” on the right side of barn

12:15 p.m. — Calvary competition on the battlefield

12:30 p.m. — President Lincoln and General Lee at the tent outside the barn

1 p.m. — Medical demonstration at the Medical Tent near the battlefield

1:45 p.m. — Lucy Parson Hopkins Scholarship awards

2 p.m. — Battle of Camp Wildcat re-enacted on original battle date

4 p.m. — Camp closes to public



The event is free but donations are accepted. The camp is located off exit 49 from Interstate 75 on Hazel Patch Road.
