LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
The March of Dimes annual Walk for Babies is hosting a kickoff on Thursday, Feb. 28 at Golden Corral at noon. Team captains or individuals and businesses who will sponsor a team for this year’s event are encouraged to come and pick up materials and information for team sponsorship.
According to Linda Newman, division director, there are approximately 14 teams who have committed to participate in this year’s event.
The London effort has marked great success in the past years, exceeding its goal in 2011 and 2012. This year’s fundraising goal is set at $44,000.
The kickoff allows team captains to join together, share ideas for fundraising efforts and learn more information about this year’s campaign.
“We want to encourage everyone to come out and support this cause,” Newman said.
