LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Hunter Hills Elementary School will host the “Run for the Hills” 5K Run/Walk on Jan. 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Levi Jackson State Park. The goal of the 5K race is to raise $15,000 to offset the cost of a field trip to Washington D.C. during Spring Break week for students who have met 94 percent attendance, maintained 3.0 to 4.0 grade point averages, and shown excellent behavior.
Registration fee is $20. The fee is reduced to $15 if participants register before Dec. 17. Registration will be accepted until and on the day of the race. Fees include a T-shirt for the participants.
Divisions of the race include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and above. There will be separate men’s and women’s divisions in each age bracket.
