Memory Walk raises $26,000 for Alzheimer’s

The 2009 Southern Kentucky Memory Walk was held in London Saturday at the Bennett Center. Registration began at 9 a.m. This annual event raised $26,000 for Alzheimer’s. The event also helps raise awareness to fight Alzheimer’s disease in Kentucky, and is organized by the Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The London walk is one of nearly a dozen being organized in the Chapter’s service area this year. Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, Memory Walks call on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
