Homes aglow with Halloween horror
Halloween is right around the corner, and Laurel County residents are getting their homes ready.
Toynua Nelson and her daughter, Hannah Nelson, decorated their home on Keavy Road in spooky colors.
There is a huge skull in front of the house, a witch on the front door, a black cat on the front porch,
carved pumpkins and spiders crawling everywhere.
A pair of eyes peer out of the bushes
on the left side of the steps and orange lights circle the porch and all around the deck.
It took two days to do all the decorating Hannah Nelson said. “My son is 19 months and he loves it and so does my nephew.” The Nelson home is next to Piney Grove Market.
Trick or treat in London and Laurel County is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
A Halloween party sponsored by the Laurel-London Optimist Club is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Optimist Club facility. Everything is free, but people are asked to bring a non-perishable item for the needy family project at Christmas. The party will be at the Optimist Club Complex on KY 80.
Light The Night, sponsored by Faith Assembly of God, 4-H and Girl Scouts, is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mill Street Park.
