Fall comes alive at Levi Jackson
Two male wood ducks seemed perfectly framed by the reflectioj of the fall trees in the pond at McHargue’s Mill at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park while several ducks swim and frolic in the water.
The park, a popular Laurel County attraction year-round, is particularly beautiful in the fall.
Wood ducks are found along rivers, swamps, marshes, ponds and lakes and are easily spotted because they are very colorful.
Male wood ducks have red eyes, orange bills, green heads, iridescent dark green-blue backs and wings and white outlines around their faces and bodies.
The females have black eyes with white circles around them, and their bodies are gray and brown with a few greenish-blue feathers.

Despite bad weather, horse show a success
