In defense of Dr. Maxey

Letter to the editor

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — To the editor:

All I have read about Dr. Maxey has been negative. Why aren’t some of his patients who do not believe all this about him standing up in his defense? Just because certain people want to destroy a good man and get his money doesn’t mean it’s true. If there weren’t dollar signs in some people’s eyes, there would not be a lawsuit. I think the saying “those who throw the first stone” should apply here. Also, might someone also be afraid of Dr. Maxey because he may not belong to the good ol’ boys club and is a better doctor than some and has morals and decency that others may not have?

Dr. Maxey worked too hard to have the practice that he has, to risk doing something foolish and have it all taken away.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Maxey for several years and not one time has my wife complained about Dr. Maxey. She has all the tests and exams these other women have and Dr. Maxey has never been anything but professional.

I personally am sorry, Dr. Maxey, that the American dream doesn’t work for everyone who tries anymore. There is always someone trying to tear that dream down.

I don’t think there is a better family doctor in London and my wife and I hope he prevails. Good luck, Dr. Maxey.
