London still doesn’t care about history

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — To the editor:

I have lived in London more than 50 years. I find it interesting that I am still hearing the same old songs.

Years ago, I went before the city fathers and asked that the old jail be saved for a museum — it would have been perfect. I was told it was not sound. Next, a group of women tried to save the movie theater. Both of these are now parking lots. There have been many wonderful old houses and other buildings torn down for more lots. If our current county executives will hurry, there are a few old houses that can become lots so people can walk a few steps.

Be careful when you vote.
