Resident concerned bear is near Bentley Road

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — To the editor:

Sometime after 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, and daylight Friday, Aug. 6, our much-loved pet, Wookie, lost a horrific fight for his life to something that came out of the woods. From the way he looked, I think it was a bear. He was a strong, energetic dog and very active.

This is something all Laurel Countians need to be aware of. This is on Bentley Road, Ky. 3008, a reasonably well-populated area with small children and older people.
