A thank you to Dr. Jackie Maxey

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — To the editor:

This letter is a public thank you to Dr. Jackie Maxey M.D., for saving my life.

I was going to a doctor in Corbin, and I was really sick. I told him that my thyroid was enlarged on one side.

He said, “No it isn’t.” He didn’t touch my neck or send me for bloodwork.

I was getting worse, so I went to Dr. Maxey. When I told him, he sent me for bloodwork that day.

I was right. I now have Grave’s disease. Dr. Maxey sent me to Lexington.

I had to have radiation and will have to take medicine the rest of my life.

I would have been dead in a short time if I had not gone to Dr. Maxey.

Thank you Dr. Maxey for all you have done for me and my family.

Lois Proffitt
