LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
An armed robbery at the Cash Express on west U.S. 25 has Laurel County Sheriff’s officials seeking the man who held up the business on Saturday morning.
The lone gunman, dressed in baggy dark colored blue jeans, a black hoodie and ski mask, black tennis shoes and carrying a black semi-automatic pistol entered the store at 10:20 a.m. and demanded money from the cashier. After collecting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber then forced the clerk into a back room where he left her before fleeing the scene.
The robber is described as being a white male, approximately 5’10” to 6 feet tall, around 190 pounds and estimated to be in his mid-20s. The suspect was recorded on surveillance cameras.
Anyone with information about the robber’s identity is urged to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864-6600.
The case is being conducted by Detective Charlie Loomis. Assisting at the scene were Sheriff John Root, Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Detective Sgt. Tommy Johnston, and Detective Daryl Zanet.
