Another burglar arrested

Found with stolen property from thefts in northern Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Recent burglaries in the northern section of the county resulted in the arrest of a second person for possessing some of the stolen items.

Milford Allen Jr., 47, of Dean Hundley Road in East Bernstadt, is the latest person charged with storing property stolen from recent thefts in the East Bernstadt and northern part of Laurel County. Allen was arrested just before 9 p.m. Monday at his residence after Laurel County Sheriff’s officials discovered numerous stolen items inside the home.

Items seized included numerous rifles, a pressure washer, chain saws, power tools, a jewelry box and fishing equipment.

Allen’s arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation into recent thefts in the area. Michael Holt was arrested Sunday night after an alleged victim of a theft went to his home on Hensley Road and the two became engaged in an argument that resulted in the two men chasing one another down the roadway with guns. Police responded to a complaint and discovered Holt possessed numerous stolen items reported missing from recent thefts.

More than eight victims have identified their stolen property and the investigation is continuing by Detective Sgt. Tommy Johnston. Assisting in Allen’s arrest were Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Detective Jason Back, Deputy Greg Turner, Deputy Steve Hoskins and Deputy Shawn Boroviak.
