Multiple drivers jailed for DUI

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

The vehicle was found blocking the traveled portion of the roadway, and the driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested.

Randy Saylor, 36, of Hopper Creek Road, London was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence; driving on a DUI suspended license, first offense; no insurance; possession of open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle prohibited and numerous other traffic violations.

Another subject was located at the scene, Saylor’s father-in-law, who had apparently driven to the scene where Saylor had wrecked.

Wayne R. Smith, 48, of Hopper Creek Road, London was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence; driving on a DUI suspended license, first offense; no insurance and open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle prohibited

Constable Tim May assisted in the investigation and arrest.

Both individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Deputy Daniel Grigsby and Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Jennifer M. Eads, 37, of Lawrenceburg on West Laurel Road, approximately eight-miles west of London, on Sunday afternoon at 3:54 p.m. after responding to a single vehicle traffic accident involving a maroon-colored Oldsmobile Cutlass.

Upon arrival at the scene, Grigsby detected the odor of alcohol and, following an investigation, determined Eads was under the influence.  Upon arrest, she began screaming and cursing.

Eads was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and second-degree disorderly conduct.

She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Early Monday morning, Deputy Mikey Ashurst arrested Alan Z. Jones, 19, of Don Minton Road, London, at 12:50 a.m. on Ky. 192, near London, after observing a white Nissan Sentra weaving badly on the snow and ice covered roadway.

Upon contact with the driver, Deputy Ashurst detected the odor of alcoholic beverages and conducted a roadside investigation determining that the driver was under the influence.

Jones was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, under the age of 21; possession of an open alcoholic beverage containers in a motor vehicle prohibited; no seat belt in use; careless driving and no insurance.

Jones was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
