LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A Laurel County woman was ejected from her car in a crash on Maple Grove Road near its intersection with Arnett Road early Tuesday afternoon.
Gladys Eversole, 50, of O. Johnson Road, was airlifted from the scene, about seven miles from London, to the University of Kentucky Medical Center around 1 p.m.
Laurel County Deputy Greg Turner said Eversole suffered a back injury.
Turner said Eversole, who was speeding, rounded a curve on a hill and lost control of her silver 2001 Chevrolet Malibu. Her car took out several yards of a black wooden fence before landing on its top in a field.
Assisting at the scene were Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London-Laurel County Rescue Squad and Laurel County Volunteer Fire Department.
The hospital would not release the condition of Eversole.
