LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
The report of a TV stolen from a motel room led police to a residence in southern Laurel County on Thursday where they confiscated both drugs and pills.
The investigation began when Laurel County Sheriff’s Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, Deputy Greg Turner, and Deputy Robbie Grimes responded to a complaint about a TV that had been stolen from a motel room. When they arrived at the scene on Ky. 770, 12 miles south of London, they found a female, identified as 40-year-old Rebecca L. Davis of Hwy. 337 in Bradfordville, Ky. Davis had an outstanding warrant. As the investigation developed, it was discovered that Davis had prescription pills that had been filled on Wednesday.
However, approximately 126 Roxicets and 49 Xanax pills were missing from the prescription bottles. A large amount of money was also found at the scene.
Witnesses told deputies they had seen Davis selling pills to numerous people between Wednesday and Thursday around 7 p.m. when officers came to the scene. Davis allegedly admitted selling the pills to other people. She was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Both charges were Davis’ first offense.
