Man killed in industrial accident

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Funeral services were held yesterday at House-Rawlings for a man who died of massive chest injuries in an industrial accident on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. on Ky. 229.

Doug Price, 40, was pronounced dead by Coroner Doug Bowling at 11:21 a.m. at Saint Joseph-London.

Price was helping another man put in an incinerator at a garage across from the old National Guard Armory building.

London Police Department Chief Stewart Walker said 1st Sgt. Kenny Jones investigated the accident and it was determined Price, of London, was operating a hydraulic lift, unloading equipment (Incinerator) weighing in excess of 3000 pounds when, apparently, the load shifted while it was being moved from a utility trailer and struck him.

Assisting Jones at the scene was Chief Walker, Capt. Derek House, Officer Jeremy Schell and Coroner Bowling.

Price was the owner of Cold Hill Iron Works. A complete obituary is on page A6.
