BREAKING NEWS: Explosion at duplex in southern Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Emergency workers responded to an explosion at a duplex on Dorothea Road in southern Laurel County around 11:15 a.m. Thursday. 

Laurel County Sheriff’s officials confirmed that one person, located inside a car in the rear of the residence, was dead. State arson officials were called to the scene to assist in the investigation into the explosion. The identity of the deceased and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
