$1,000 reward: Crime Stoppers seeks information about recent robberies

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A string of armed robberies in southern Laurel County has prompted a Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information regarding four armed robberies taking place at BP/Krystal on Ky. 770, 10 miles south of London, on Mar. 22 and Mar. 24 in which a lone white male entered the store and demanded money from a clerk at gunpoint. In both those robberies, the man fled on foot with the stolen money. These robberies occurred on Friday and Sunday nights.

Weekend robberies continued into the past weekend, with Unique Tanning and Gifts and Tobacco Store being hit on Friday night around 7:20 p.m. by an armed gunman who walked up to the drive-thru window with a gun and demanded money. This suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Unique Tanning and Gifts is located in southern Laurel County at the intersection of U.S. 25 and U.S. 25-E, 10  miles south of London in the north Corbin area.

In the same pattern as the prior weekend, the second robbery took place on Sunday night at Laurel Lake Shell on Ky. 770, just across the road from the BP/Krystal store that was robbed the previous weekend.

In this week’s armed robbery, a lone gunman entered the store and robbed the attendants of an undisclosed amount of money and may have fled on foot.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 606-878-CRIM, or 606-878-2746.
