A man pleaded guilty Friday to charges that he used MySpace to lure a 15-year-old girl into meeting him and a friend, then raped and sodomized the girl.
Christopher Wayne Kidd, 24, of Corbin, faces 10 years in prison, pending a sexual offender psychiatric evaluation to be completed before his sentencing date on March 19.
According to the plea agreement, Kidd would serve 10 years for the rape charge and 10 years for the sodomy charge, which would run concurrently.
Kidd and a 17-year-old juvenile allegedly used MySpace to lure the girl into meeting them in North Corbin on May 1. The juvenile reportedly was a friend of the victim and she met them because she thought they were going to hang out. Kidd and the juvenile allegedly gave the girl alcohol before having sex with her.
Kidd was arrested on May 19 when he was in Laurel District Court on another charge. A jury trial scheduled to begin Tuesday was pre-empted by the guilty plea.
