Fire guts home on Twin Branch Road

With flooded roads blocking the way for the McWhorter Fire Department, East Bernstadt Firefighters were called to battle a house fire Monday morning on Twin Branch Road in northern Laurel County.

When firefighters arrived, smoke was pouring through the roof vents.

Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to make sure the fire was extinguished.

The home suffered water and smoke damage but no one was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
