A Pulaski County man was indicted on federal charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
A federal grand jury in London returned the indictment Thursday after a six-month investigation by FBI agents, who reportedly downloaded the files from Golden using the file-sharing Web site GigaTribe.com.
In the indictment, Golden is accused of using interstate or foreign commerce to distribute sexually explicit depictions of minors and possession of one or more visual sexually explicit depictions of minor that had been mailed, shipped or transported using interstate or foreign commerce.
According to King, beginning in December, an FBI agent working out of Maryland, made contact with Golden through GigaTribe.com. The agent, at the invitation of Golden, viewed and then downloaded at least six of the images from Golden.
After determining the Internet Protocol address Golden was using, the FBI subpoenaed New Wave Communication for the address and learned it belonged to an address in the Science Hill community.
Agents made contact with Golden two more times, downloading additional photographs over the next four months. On June 9,they executed a search warrant on the Science Hill home where agents recovered the computer, hard drive and thumb drive on which they reportedly found the images and spoke with Golden.
Golden reportedly told FBI agents that he downloaded the pornographic images through the GigaTribe web site almost daily for several months.
“In addition to obtaining images of child pornography, Golden admitted to providing others with images of child pornography utilizing the Giga Tribe file sharing service, King said.
Golden is scheduled to be arraigned in U.S. District Court in London Wednesday.
If convicted he faces 5-10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine on the distribution charge and up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine for the possession charge.
