A Laurel County woman was listed in fair condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center Wednesday afternoon following a one-vehicle accident on east KY 80 Tuesday morning.
Judy Maxey, 38, of Mark Lane, was traveling west on KY 80 in a gray Honda Passport about 13 miles from London when she failed to negotiate a curve, Laurel County Sheriff’s Sgt. Glenn Reed said. She struck a concrete culvert and traveled 200 feet in a field before striking a tree.
The tree had to be removed by the London-Laurel Rescue Squad from the windshield before Maxey could be removed from her vehicle.
Maxey was airlifted from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Assisting Sgt. Reed at the scene were the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad, Bush Voluntary Fire Department, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, and Deputies Jason Back and Ernest Rudder.
