LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A public information meeting regarding the proposed widening of U.S. 25 in Laurel County will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hunter Hills Elementary School.
The meeting has been scheduled by the Kentucky Department of Transportation in order to get feedback on the proposal of widening of the highway.
Transportation Cabinet representatives will be on site to receive comments and answer questions from the public. The meeting will be conducted in “open format," meaning that interested parties can attend at any point during the two-hour meeting period.
According to the Kentucky Department of Transportation, the project proposed will begin at the intersection of U.S. 25 and Ky. 1006 and will extend south to the intersection of U.S. 25 and U.S. 25E. The meetings purpose is to “introduce potential alignments and to seek input from citizens and stakeholders,” according to the KDOT. Anyone interested in this project is urged to attend the meeting.
Written and oral statements will be accepted during the meeting.
