E.B. Independent School seeking computer monitors

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — East Bernstadt is making progress toward its goal of putting four to five computers in every classroom, however the district still needs about 50 monitors before that can be a reality.

E.B. schools recently received a donation of 100 computers. However, each computer needed a monitor.

The district has obtained about 50 monitors so far through various donations and PTO fundraisers. A Walmart grant was used to purchased 25 monitors, 10 were donated and 15 more were purchased. Local businesses such as ACS and Little Caesar’s have also donated monitors to the school.

Currently the district has a computer lab set up with 40 computers, but school administrators would consider a second lab, if more computers were donated.

“We want to increase our students’ use of technology,” said Superintendent Vicki Jones, especially with program such as Accelerated Reader and other math and reading software.  “Having access to the computers in the classroom will greatly benefit the students.”

If you or your business can help, please contact the school at 843-7373.
