Object in road causes accident

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A pickup truck pulling a loaded trailer took an unexpected route when it approached an object lying in the roadway.

Christopher Collins, 32, of Lily, was driving the truck on U.S. 25, five miles south of London, on Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. pulling a trailer loaded with four large propane tanks. Collins came upon an object in the roadway that had fallen off another vehicle and swerved to avoid collision. The sudden shift in the weight of the trailer resulted in Collins losing control and going over an embankment into a creek.

Collins was taken by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Saint Joseph London for treatment following the accident. Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes investigated the accident.
