One injured in two-vehicle accident

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — One person was injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on west Ky. 80.

Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes responded to the scene at the intersection of Ridings Mitchell Creek Road and west Ky. 80, one-half mile west of London,  around 2:30 p.m.

A press release from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office states a black Nissan, driven by 28-year-old Amanda Hibbitts of Pine Top Road in London, pulled out from Ridings Mitchell Creek Road into the path of an orange Dodge Caravan, driven by 71-year-old J. D. Melton of Somerset Road in London, which was traveling westbound on Ky. 80.

Melton was transported to Saint Joseph London for possible injuries sustained in the crash. Hibbitts was not injured, but both vehicles had severe damage.
