LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — An early morning accident in southern Laurel County sent one man to jail for DUI and charges of alcohol intoxication against a juvenile passenger in the vehicle.

The crash occurred on Adams Road, 13 miles south of London, just after 5 a.m. Tuesday when 26-year-old Michael S. Taylor of north Ky. 1223 in Corbin ran his silver Chrysler Sebring into a ditch line. When Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Berry and Sgt. Brett Reeves arrived on the scene, they found that neither Taylor nor the passenger in the vehicle were injured. However, they did determine both were under the influence.

Taylor was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, no operator’s license, and no seat belt. The juvenile was also charged with alcohol intoxication.

Taylor was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents.
