Five indicted for stealing D.A.R.E. trailer

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A Laurel County grand jury indicted five people last week for stealing a utility trailer that belongs to the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program on four different dates during the month of June.

Those charged include:

• Jason Patton, 30, 2671 W. Pine Hill Road, London, theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more but less than $10,000, first-degree persistent felony offender for four prior felony offenses in Laurel and Owsley counties between 2000 and 2003.

• Stephen Hensley, 33, Ky. 229, Barbourville, theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more but less than $10,000.

• Roscoe Jones, 54, 75 Britton Lane, London, theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more but less than $10,000.

• Herbert Trosper, 53, 84 Trosper Lane, London, theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more but less than $10,000.

• Jeffrey Campbell, 37, 487 Maple Grove School Road, London, theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more but less than $10,000; second-degree possession of controlled substance (Lortab), first offense; and first-degree persistent felony offender for prior convictions in Knox and Laurel counties.

Other indictments handed out last week include:

• Kelly Godsey, 24, 78 Bourbon St., Manchester, three counts third-degree burglary, two counts of theft by unlawful taking less than $500, five counts of third-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar’s tools. He is connected to break-ins and thefts at BJ’s Laundry, Dollar General Store and coin machines owned by Chris Amusements.

• Benny Fugate, 50, Manchester, flagrant non-support.

• Anthony Blackwell, 36, 285 Park Subdivision Road, London,  manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense.

• Marty Taylor, 48, 2918 Hopkins Cemetery Road, Lily, and Lisa Bryant, 30, 76 Diamond Lane, Corbin, first offense manufacturing meth. Bryant has a prior felony conviction for possession of methamphetamine precursors in 2003 and is  charged with second-degree persistent felony offender.

• Orena C. Alsip, 33, 84 Hummingbird Lane, Keavy, or 162 Baker Road, Keavy, flagrant non-support.

• Shawn Curtis Smith, 32, 190 Smith Road, East Bernstadt, flagrant non-support.

• Earl Yaden, 43, 1387 Old State Road, Lily, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, fourth offense, and driving a motor vehicle while license is revoked or suspended for DUI, second offense.

• Mason Allen, 41, 3598 S. Laurel Road, London, first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), second offense; second-degree possession of controlled substance (hydrocodone), second offense; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; no tail lamps; no brake lights; rear license tag not illuminated; operating motor vehicle under influence of intoxicants, second offense; and first-degree persistent felony offender.

• Dennis Bargo Jr., 30, 205 Page St., Corbin, flagrant non-support.

• Anita Hall, 21, 114 Elk River Court, Gray, first-degree bailjumping.

• Michael Lee Ball, 39, Tackett Creek Road, Williamsburg,  theft of identity of another without consent.

• Marty Stewart, 33, 59 Copley Road, Lily, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

• Alex Warber, 29, 1192 Anders Road, London, first-offense manufacturing meth.

• George King, 60, 5402 Hartwell St., Dearbourn, Mich., first-degree trafficking controlled substance, first offense for selling Oxycodone to a confidential witness of the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

• Rachelle Dailey, 505 Middleground Way, London, failure to comply with sex offender registration by not registering her address with the Kentucky State Police, and second-degree persistent felony offender.

• Jason Patton, 30, 1525 Patton Road, East Bernstadt, and Robert Laws III, 30, 301 Morgan St., London, third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking over $500. Patton is also charged with first-degree persistent felony offender, having four prior felony convictions from 2000 to 2005.

• David Lawson, 24, 712 Roosevelt St., London, third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

• Justin Chambers, 29, no address listed; Travis Creech, 26, 4375 Sinking Creek Road, London; and Heather Creech, 25, 346 Twin Valley Road, London; first offense manufacturing methamphetamine. Chambers is also charged with fleeing or evading police.

• Robbie Baker 31, 25 Hardin Road, London; Gale Thorpe, also known as Gale Davis and Gale Napier, 26 Hardin Road, London; and Jessica Reams, 30, also known as Jessica Lewis, 185 Schell Road, London; first offense manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine). Jessica Reams is also charged with second-degree persistent felony offender for prior felony conviction in 2008.

• Jonathan McIntosh, 33, and Rebecca Boggs, 30, both of  128 Pearl St., London, manufacturing methamphetamine and fleeing or evading police.

• Mitchell Parker, 29, 390 Lloyd Meadors Road, Williamsburg, first-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, theft by unlawful taking over $500 and theft by unlawful taking under $500.

• Paul Knighting, 39, E. 9th St. Apartments, Apt. B, London,  first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second offense; and second-degree persistent felony offender.

• Tommy Miller, 34, 671 S. Laurel Road, London, first-degree bailjumping.

• Jerry Lawson, 51, 673 S. Ky. 1223, Corbin, and Heaven Roaden, 20, 59 Bluebonnet Circle, Corbin, first-degree possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of meth precursors. Lawson is also charged with second-degree persistent felony offender.

• Leslie Hooker, 35, 110 Arrowhead Court Road, Manchester, theft by failure to make required disposition of $500 or more.

• Larry Donavon Bowling, 39, 10 Village St., London, flagrant non-support.

• Michael Whitehead, 62, and Sara D. Whitehead, 51, 376 A  Earl Howard Road, London, theft by unlawful taking over $500 but less than $10,000.

• Jonathan Taylor, also known as John Taylor, 30, 111 Cox Lane, London, receiving stolen property over $500. He is also charged with first-degree persistent felony offender, with four prior felony convictions between 2000 and 2003.

• Christopher Sams, 30, 223 Jacksboro St., Somerset, first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree escape, giving officer a false name/address, theft by unlawful taking over $500, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal mischief.

• Byron Johnson, 40, 90 Chestnut Cemetery Road, London, driving a motor vehicle while license is revoked or suspended for DUI, second offense; driving under the influence of intoxicants, fourth offense.

• Seana Griffitts, 25, 5536 Slate Lick Road, London, theft by unlawful taking over $500.

• Vivian Whittamore, 61, 453 S. Laurel Road, Apt. No. 27, London, and Patsy Fentress, 50, 495 Morentown Road, London, fraudulent insurance acts over $300 by falsifying an insurance claim in order to collect insurance. Whittamore is charged with two counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and falsely reporting an incident.

• Vickie Hubbard, 49, 109 Pine St., London, fraud or false statement in obtaining controlled substances.

• Jimmy Barrett, 32, 113 Blue Sky Lane, London, first-degree fleeing or evading police; driving motor vehicle while license is suspended or revoked for DUI, second offense; driving motor vehicle under influence of intoxicants, third offense; and operating a vehicle with expired registration plates.

• Rodney Coots, 33, 673 Hazel Patch Road, London, receiving stolen property over $500, second-degree criminal mischief, possession of firearm by a convicted felon and first-degree persistent felony offender.

• Juanita Brice, 39, 256 Fall St., London, manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense; possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine and Oxycodone); possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Roger Brown, 40, Ky. 1232, Gray, and David Moore, 34, 563 S. Ky. 1223, Corbin, unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursors and failure to wear seatbelt. Roger Brown is also charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license.

• Shannon Catron, 37, 479 Leo Gilliland Road, Somerset, first-degree fleeing or evading police; operating motor vehicle under influence of intoxicants, third offense; and speeding by driving 104 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.
