Man shot in domestic incident

No charges filed

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — An East Bernstadt man was flown to a Lexington hospital following a domestic shooting incident on Wednesday night.

Anthony Highley, 46, is reportedly listed in stable condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, after suffering a gunshot wound at a residence on Ky. 3630 in the East Bernstadt.

According to a press release from the Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London, the shooting allegedly occurred  around 9 p.m. Wednesday night. Highley and 42-year-old Jeanne Lawhorn, also of East Bernstadt, were involved in a domestic dispute that led to a physical altercation. During the argument, Lawhorn allegedly shot Highley.

The press release states Lawhorn was interviewed after the shooting incident, but no charges have been filed at this time, pending the outcome of the investigation.

KSP Detective Doug Boyd is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by members of the Kentucky State Police Post 11, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, London Police Department, and Laurel County EMS.
