The annual craft show, Sights and Sounds of Christmas, will take place on Nov. 29 and 30, the weekend of Thanksgiving, at the London Community Center.

The craft show will feature exhibits from 43 local artists, who will be selling handcrafted items.  Items expected to be available for purchase include various wood workings, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, wreaths and much, much more.

“It’s just a tradition,” said Anglee Smith, member of the London Women’s Club.  “After people have their Thanksgiving dinner and they are full, they’re going to go shopping. Coming out to Sights and Sounds of Christmas gives them a chance to get some handcrafted items made by local artists for their loved ones.”

Vendors will be able to begin setting up their displays at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, but Smith warns they are responsible for their belongings and must leave their booth area clean.

“The Laurel County Historical Society will have a silent auction,” Smith said.  “Any and all donations will be appreciated.  You don’t have to be an exhibitor to donate to this auction.”

Smith asks that donated items are accompanied with the name of the contributor and the value of the item.  The proceeds will go to the Historical Society’s research library and museum.

The annual craft show will be open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.  Admission is $4 for adults and is free for children under 12.

“There’s a wide variety of things for people to look at,” said Smith.  “It’s fun to walk around and see what everyone has.  Maybe you’ll even find some good fudge while you look.”
