LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Jeff Lewis receive more than twice the votes than Lola Reed to unseat her in School Board District No. 4.
Lewis received 1,947 votes; Reed received 854; and Mark Begley, who withdrew from the race early on but was still on the ballot, received 460. Reed came on board in 2004.
In the School Board District No. 5 race, Charles “Bud” Stuber received 2,020 votes compared to Albert Binder’s 1,644. Stuber came on board in 2009. School Board District No. 2 incumbent Ed Jones, who has been on the board since 1992, received 2,132 to nine write-ins.
The East Bernstadt Independent school board will have two new faces. Sandra Smith and Mequeil Storm beat out incumbents Kenny Woodruff and Robert Frost.
Smith received 253; Storm, 212; Woodruff, 197; and Frost, 146.
