Missing man found

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Emergency and rescue crews were out in full force on Sunday, searching for a 20-year-old man who had been reported missing.

But the story had a happy ending when the man was found safe in London.

The search for Zachary Frank began when his father contacted authorities around 4:41 p.m. Sunday. The father said Frank was last seen around 6 p.m. Friday from his father’s home on Miller Road, seven miles west of London. The younger Frank had left on foot, reportedly to go hunting on Cane Creek, which is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the residence.

But when the 20-year-old did not come home, the father became worried and contacted police. He said not coming home was uncharacteristic of his son and he believed something was amiss.

Rescue workers including the Laurel County Emergency Management, the Laurel County Public Safety, and the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad conducted a search for the young man, but to no avail.

Their fears were relieved, however, after a friend of the younger Frank saw his picture on a TV news broadcast and also contacted police. The friend allegedly knew where Frank was and when Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Mikey Ashurst went to that location, he found Frank safe. The elder and younger Franks reportedly had been arguing and Zachary Frank left the home for that reason.

No further investigation into the incident will be conducted.
