LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A woman subdued by cancer was the victim of childhood pranks that resulted in their father being jailed.
The incident began when Laurel County Sheriff’s officials were notified of some children shooting pellet guns on Bluegrass Road, eight miles north of London, around 9 a.m. Monday morning. There had been numerous complaints of a similar nature, with reports the children were shooting the pellet gun and throwing rocks at the woman’s home.
When deputies arrived and began questioning the children regarding the incident and contacting their parents, one mother called the father. When the father arrived at the scene, he became irate, creating a disturbance with the officers and interfering with the investigation.
Kevin R. Mitchell, 43, of Bluegrass Road in East Bernstadt, was inevitably arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, menacing, and resisting arrest.
None of the children or other parents were charged in this incident.
Deputy John Inman assisted Deputy William Bo Harris with the investigation.
