LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
The streets of downtown London will be filled with comic book and horror characters during the second annual downtown trick-or-treat event that brought nearly 1,000 children to London’s Main Street area last year.
“The inaugural Boo on Main in 2012 was a huge success,” said Chris Robinson, executive director for London Downtown. “With it being the first year, we didn’t know what to expect and were more than excited for the great turnout. We anticipate this year to be just as good as long as the weather cooperates.”
Boo on Main is set for Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with businesses and representatives handing out treats to participating costumed children.
This year’s Boo on Main is open to any business, not just those located in the downtown area, with treat station sponsorships.
“Businesses may sponsor a treat station for only $100,” Robinson added. “With that they receive 1,000 pieces of candy and signage representing their sponsorship. This is a wonderful exposure for businesses and a great partnership with a community event.”
Besides the recognition of sponsorship, those stationed at the treat stops will have opportunity to meet with many of the community’s children and their parents and grandparents. Businesses who sponsor a treat station can provide coupons to include in the treat bags.
