Halloween home invaders sought

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Rice along with Lt. Chuck Johnson, Sgt. Josh Gaylor, and  Deputy John Inman received a Laurel 9-1-1 dispatch that a man had came home to find intruders in his home on Oneal Road, five miles west of London, on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they learned the homeowner had taken his wife to work, and upon arriving back at his residence, entered the back door of his home to find two male subjects wearing  hoodies in his living room. The intruders fled out the front door of the residence, stole the victim’s yellow colored H3 Hummer and drove toward Ky. 1956. The victim fired his pistol at his Hummer as the intruders drove away with it.

The stolen vehicle has a military tag and  military stickers on it, as the victim is active duty U.S. Army.

Deputies determined the suspects had forced the front door open to gain entry to the residence. Once inside, they piled up items from inside the residence to apparently steal from the home.

Deputies attempted to locate the vehicle, but have not yet found it. KSP Trooper Stacy Walker assisted at the scene.

Anyone with any information on this crime, the suspects, or the victim’s vehicle is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at 606-864-6600, or 606-878-7000. Callers can remain anonymous.
