LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Anders Road, in western Laurel County, was the scene of a fatal accident in which a Laurel man died after crashing his motorcycle.
Larry A. Worley, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Information from the London Post 11 of the Kentucky State Police indicates Worley was traveling southbound on Anders Road on his 1987 Kawasaki motorcycle when he failed to maneuver a curve, causing the vehicle to go out of control, striking a gate post.
Worley was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The incident is being investigated by Trooper Shaler Jones, who was assisted at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
Worley is the seventh traffic fatality of the year. The first came on Jan. 22, and the second a month later. The third fatality occurred in March, followed by four traffic-related deaths in April.
