LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A false complaint resulted in the arrests of two persons on Boggs Lane early Saturday morning.

It began with the call that a man had hit his wife with his pickup truck on Boggs Lane in the Lily community around 5 a.m. Saturday. Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Boroviak and Kentucky State Police Sgt. Steve Walker went to the scene and located the alleged assault vehicle — a white Chevrolet Silverado truck.

Around 5:36 a.m., they arrested 56-year-old Roger Brown following a traffic stop on Boggs Lane, seven miles south of London. Brown was a passenger in the vehicle and was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.

The investigation into the complaint involving the truck revealed there was no damage to the vehicle and the incident was a false report. That lead to the arrest of 46-year-old Rita Brown, also of Boggs Lane in Lily, for falsely reporting an incident.

Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
