For the many people in Laurel County and across the country who still wish to send a sympathy card or donations to his surviving son, a memorial fund has been set up for Bill Sparkman.
Sparkman was found dead last month near a Clay County cemetery with the word “fed” written across his chest and a rope around his neck. Asphyxiation was the cause of death.
The slaying has resulted in national media coverage and an outpouring of support for Sparkman’s only son Josh.
Josh Sparkman, 20, has received a stack of sympathy cards, as well as cash donations from complete strangers all over the country.
“There’s been some beautiful cards, some really nice things people have said,” Sparkman said previously. “It’s very comforting. It shows me there really are some good people left in the world.”
